This webinar is designed to support teachers in planning for our Year 8 Scheme of Learning Autumn Block 3 Multiplication and Division of Fractions.

The session will explore different representations for multiplying and dividing fractions from paper folding to bar models. The aim is to consider how these representations help students to understand the more formal processes.

Strategies enabling students to get a sense of the size of a fraction multiplication or division will also be shared. The webinar will highlight possible misconceptions and approaches for addressing these.

Finally, there will be a brief focus on introducing algebraic fractions.

Please note – you will receive an email from Eventbrite at approximately 7.30 am on the morning of the webinar. This will contain the unique webinar link, meeting id and passcode.

This will be issued to the email address used to register for the event.
