White Rose Maths have been delivering many sessions up and down the country to many Primary schools for over a year now.
By popular demand we have combined three of the sessions to create two full days of insights and inspiration.
We are pleased to offer you the option of booking two full days, at a reduced cost of £286.20 + VAT and ticket booking fee.
This session is specially designed for Early Years practitioners, it draws upon the most up to date research and explores how best to support children taking those first steps into mathematics through to stretching and challenging confident mathematicians as they approach key stage one.
We exemplify the importance of key mathematical concepts through classroom activities and games and show how these concepts become the foundations for the rest of the primary curriculum. These include the counting principles, key representations, subitising, pattern, mathematical talk and developing reasoning throughout all stages of development.
We look at our Reception Schemes and show how to use them effectively with all EYFS practitioners when planning for both adult led learning and for provision areas.
This course would be appropriate for class teachers, Early Years Leads or Maths Leads. Middle leaders, Senior Leaders, NQTs and teaching assistants are also welcome.
Teaching for Mastery at Key Stage 1 – (KS1)
This full day course will unpick different elements of teaching for mastery that enable pupils to develop a deep and secure knowledge of mathematics. Using a range of representations, we will look at developing key skills that underpin the curriculum and how to apply these skills in a range of contexts, We will also explore how teachers can use assessment to inform planning, highlight gaps in learning and move children forward in their understanding. Building on a firm foundation, we will consider how to plan using a small steps approach, covering topics in detail and making connections across the curriculum.
