White Rose Maths is proud to team up with leading supermarket, Morrisons, to give primary pupils a series of exciting and FREE workbooks to use at home. These colourful and engaging workbooks are perfect for revisiting and practising work that children have covered earlier in the year, or to prepare them for the new school year ahead.
Parents and carers can collect the books from 26 July onwards at any of Morrisons’ network of stores nationwide. All they need to do is to call in at the ‘Children’s Little Library’ in their local Morrisons store during their regular shop, and collect their free copies!
Families are welcome to take one free copy per pupil from Y1 to Y6. The workbooks contain a link to the answers, too.
Teachers might like to advise parents which book would be most appropriate for their child.
Please share this message with the parents of all pupils in your school!
White Rose Maths & Morrisons Little Libraries: summer workbooks FAQs
We have provided a book for each year group from Year 1 to Year 6.
The books contain questions on two crucially important topics – (i) place value, and (ii) addition and subtraction. These topics form the first two blocks in the White Rose Maths schemes of learning.
To make sure that the free booklets are shared as fairly as possible, each child can have just one workbook each. So a family with three children can have three booklets in total.
If a child needs extra summer time practice on work they’ve already covered, then we advise that parents pick up a copy of the year group that their child has just finished. If a child has a good understanding of work already done, then it would be helpful to work through the booklet for the year group they will join in September.
Yes! We’re providing video solutions on this page for each of the questions in the booklets. We’ve also included a link to the solutions in each workbook.
Morrisons launched the Little Libraries in May, so your local store should have one. Look out for the green signage shown in the picture!
